British Boxing: Felix Cash Dominates Denzel Bentley, Wins The British Middleweight Title With A Statement Victory
Once again it was the unique British title which caught the eyes of boxing fans across the nation, as we were set for a main event between two of the best domestic middleweights in modern times. Often, the Lonsdale belt is overlooked as it has less importance now than it ever has, but when the board ordered this title defence for Denzel Bentley to take on Commonwealth champion Felix Cash, it simply had to be watched.

Denzel Bentley v Felix Cash - 12 Rounds British & Commonwealth Middleweight Titles (Cash Wins Via 3rd Round TKO) - BT Sport
There was a genuine excitement within British boxing for this fight, a classic feeling to it and the iconic York Hall, even if in silence, was playing host to a near even fight on paper. Both men have a tendency to start fast and keep the momentum going in their own favour. Cash opened with the better punches, landing some good pressure shots to Bentley who was stuck on the ropes and struggling to understand which stance to take.
Occasionally, Bentley would move out of range nicely and made
Cash look amateur, but the shots he was returning with just didn't seem to have
a big impact on Cash. A well contested 2nd round seen Bentley use
his style to better effect, with Cash continuing to try run Bentley down, with
that high pace sustaining as we suspected it would.

Whatever had happened in the first few rounds must have given Felix Cash an eye to get Denzel Bentley out of there early, and he did so in a quite brilliant fashion. The pressure boxing was getting to Bentley who once again found himself on the ropes, and Cash bombed through with a soaring right hand over the top that stunned Bentley.
From there, Cash continued to fire through with those vicious right hands that had Bentley out on his feet. His hands were dropped, and he was taking punishment at an unfair rate, with five clean hooks landing over the top before referee Victor Loughlin stepped in at the right time.
This was about as good as we have seen Felix cash who has
now added the British title to his collection and will now be looking to fight long
reigning European champion Kamil Szeremeta, to help advance onto the world
stage.
